Bernard Lawrence Madoff born April 29, 1938 is an American businessman and former Chairman of the Nasdaq stock market. He started the Wall Street firm Bernard L. Madoff was a philanthrop. He donated vast amounts of money during his whole life to charitable organizations, hospitals, theaters and to the Democratic Party. He was chairman at the Yeshiva University, member of board of New York City
His sons were those who turned him in after confronting him. He confirmed that he was unable to pay back investors who wished to withdraw their money due to the global
financial crisis.
